Internet Marketing and the Power of Passion with David Boozer

Our featured interview guest today is David Boozer . David helps individuals and brands build a market presence online using his extensive knowledge in the internet marketing space. A family man who resides in the Pacific Northwest we are happy to shoot a few questions his way. Lets kick it off.

Can you sum up what you do in one sentence?

Internet Marketing Consultant & SEO, with a little dish of blogger on the side.

What is the first thing you do when you wake up and what is the last thing you do before you go to bed?

I read a daily devotional as my PC boots up. After that however, email comes first. Here I go through new subscribers briefly looking for some to connect with and, just the numbers in general that came in as I slept.

I will look at the amount of traffic my website and blog saw, and then see what that conversion rate was.

After that, I sip coffee and read an article or two from my favorite sites because I love to always learn, then get into work mode. All this by 6:30 AM .

After the day is over, I check email one more time and read another article or post before bed. However, I just became a dad again, so sleep is something I am missing these days…

What is the number one productivity killer you see and how do you stop it?

Being human. Laziness becomes us quite often as humans. Nothing kills productivity more than laziness or, what leads to laziness, boredom.

To cure this problem is simple, enjoy what you do!

One of the most important first steps I teach people online is to find what they are most passionate about, and go from there.

Idle hands are the devil’s playground, and so is boredom and laziness.

These two things are the reason people join things, then quit things online and offline.

Do you have a favorite productivity tool?

My own passion. I love to teach, mentor and consult people with their online presence. I love SEO, content marketing and everything in between.

However, I love to see people succeed even more, so PEOPLE would be my answer to the reason my own passion is my favorite productivity tool.

But, if you want an actual “tool,” blogging and video, when you think about it, we as humans communicate in one of two ways, written or, verbal.

Blogging and video takes care of both.

What do you do when you aren’t feeling productive or motivated?

I take a break. Maybe for an hour or a day, but I take a break and join my family for some fun….

How do you set goals for yourself and what is your top priority goal this year?

Goal this year, is to open up my long time dream of a marketing firm. My goals are based around a mixture of content I just feel is important and, some geared around analytics reports.

Either way, it is all about creating answers, after all, they are what everyone is searching online.

What is the biggest mistake you’ve made that you’ll never repeat?

Falling for shortcuts and gimmicks. Nothing beats quality content.

As someone who receives tons of emails everyday, what do you see in emails that makes you want to hit “delete” immediately?

Headlines that are too selly-sell or cannot truly solve any of my problems. I like getting emails, but I a picky to whom I subscribe, notice I said “WHOM.” Personalized content is great.

Do you have a role model or a mentor that has helped you stay productive and how did you find that mentor?

Brian Garnder , Darren Rowse and Pat Flynn . These guys have been a true inspiration to me, both personally and the knowledge I have gained here.

They are bloggers, web designers and marketers who made sense without the craziness. I found their message to be perfect.

What is the most powerful thing you’ve ever seen, heard, or read?

Every FREE ebook from Coppyblogger . On the personal side, the book of Romans in the Bible.

What do you do for fun to relax or clear your mind and do you schedule downtime?

Hang out with my family. I also love to read and watch Superman movies, any one of them=) I love to hike, camp, fish and hunt as well. Hey, I am from the Pacific Northwest!

If you had the last living dinosaur on earth, how would you make money from it?

By educating people about it, they can leave a donation and will, if I do a good enough job at educating them.
